Activities

- Bird watching – this is twitcher's paradise with over 350 species in the area. Flocks of flamingoes & other water birds of Lake Magadi, riverine forest at the lodge, as well as surrounding bushland & grasslands, you don't even have to move from the camp to see a fantastic variety of birdlife.
- Game drives in the Shompole Conservation Area (100 sq km). This conservation area is a fine example of Community owned conservation. You can see a wide variety of wildlife including oryx, elephant, buffalo, eland, giraffe, gazelle & lion. A foot bridge across the river facilitates the access to the Conservation Area.
- Night game drives and possibility to join one of the animal research projects on their field trip (lions, striped hyenas, baboons)
- Nature walks with local Masai guides.
- Canoeing and tubing down the Ewaso River. (water level allowing, we recommend only to do it upstream as downstream from the lodge, the river split in several channels, making pick ups difficult)
- Cultural tourism. Visits to traditional Masai villages
- Archeological – visit Olorgesaille National Museum site on the road from Nairobi to Magadi.

Guest Information:
-Do not feed the monkeys & baboons, we are happy to have them living alongside the lodge but we do not want them to become a pest and our enemies.
-Please drive on existing tracks to avoid destroying the environment.

Warning - Loisiijo is located in a natural bush environment. There are wild animals living in this area and in the Conservation Area.
